Join a Law Enforcement Agency First

To access police vehicles, you must first join one of the three law enforcement agencies in the game: NYSP (New York State Police), EGPD (East Greenbush Police Department), or SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics). All three are Interactive jobs, meaning they pay cash and show "Start" in the jobs menu. Open the jobs clipboard, find the law enforcement option you want, and start the job. Once you are enrolled in a law enforcement role, police vehicles become available to you.

The police station on the map serves as the headquarters for all three agencies. It houses NYSP, EGPD, and SWAT operations. While you do not need to visit the station to join (you can join from the jobs menu anywhere), it serves as a roleplay hub for law enforcement activities.

Accessing Police Vehicles at the Dealership

Once you have joined a law enforcement job, go to the Apex Auto dealership. Police and emergency vehicles are listed under the special/emergency tier in the dealership UI. The 5.9.6 revamped dealership interface has a dedicated section for emergency vehicles alongside trucks and civilian cars. Browse the available police vehicles, select your preferred model, choose trim and color, and purchase as you would any other vehicle.

Police vehicles are not free — you must pay the in-game cash price just like civilian vehicles. However, they are only available to players who have an active law enforcement job. If you leave the job, you may lose access to spawn or purchase these vehicles (待确认).

Gamepass Requirements

Standard police vehicles for NYSP and EGPD are available to all players who have joined those jobs — no additional Gamepass is required. However, SWAT vehicles require the Premium Law Enforcement Gamepass in addition to having the SWAT job active. This is consistent with the game's tier system where premium and emergency vehicles often have additional access requirements.

Some undercover police vehicles (like the 2026 Delton Silverado undercover) may also have specific access conditions. The undercover variant is designed to look like a regular civilian vehicle, making it useful for stealth roleplay scenarios.

Available Police Vehicles

Known police vehicles include: the 2020 Marshall Explora-NYSP (based on the Ford Explorer, used by New York State Police), the 2026 Delton Silverado (based on Chevrolet Silverado, available in undercover configuration), and various other emergency vehicles for EGPD and SWAT. Update 5.9.6 added new police vehicle options alongside its 20+ new and updated vehicles. The exact roster continues to expand with each update.

Emergency vehicles also include non-police options: EGFD (East Greenbush Fire Department) vehicles, DOT (Department of Transportation) trucks, and the 2014 Centurus Engine-Fire (fire truck, approximately $54,000). These require their respective job roles to access.

Police Equipment & Tools

Once you have a police vehicle and an active law enforcement job, you gain access to police equipment introduced across recent updates: handcuffs, spike strips, citation system (ticketing), police tape, flares, and radio (all from Update 5.6.0, Fall 2025). The CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system was added in Phase 2 during Update 5.9.4, providing enhanced police coordination tools. The prop placement tool (5.9.6) lets emergency teams place multiple objects for traffic control and scene management.
