How to Become Police in Rensselaer County Roblox — Step by Step

The Three Law Enforcement Agencies

Rensselaer County has three law enforcement agencies you can join: NYSP (New York State Police) — the state-level police force that patrols highways and major roads. EGPD (East Greenbush Police Department) — the local town police handling community patrols and traffic enforcement. SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) — the elite tactical unit for high-risk situations. All three are Interactive jobs, meaning they pay in-game cash and show "Start" in the jobs menu.

The police station on the map serves as headquarters for all three agencies. It houses NYSP, EGPD, and SWAT operations and is where law enforcement roleplay is centered. While you can join from the jobs menu anywhere on the map, the station is the primary hub for police activities.

How to Join

Open the jobs menu by interacting with the jobs clipboard on the map. Scroll through the list until you find "New York State Police," "East Greenbush Police," or "SWAT." Press "Start" next to your chosen agency. You are now enrolled in that law enforcement role. No Gamepass is required for NYSP or EGPD. SWAT also does not require a Gamepass to join, but accessing SWAT vehicles requires the Premium Law Enforcement Gamepass.

Once enrolled, you will receive a police name tag above your character and gain access to police-specific features: police vehicles at the dealership, law enforcement equipment, and the CAD dispatch system.

Police Vehicles

After joining a law enforcement agency, police vehicles become available at the Apex Auto dealership under the emergency/special tier. Known police vehicles include the 2020 Marshall Explora-NYSP (based on the Ford Explorer, used by NYSP), the 2026 Delton Silverado (based on Chevrolet, available in undercover configuration), and various other patrol vehicles. Update 5.9.6 added new police vehicle options. SWAT vehicles require the Premium Law Enforcement Gamepass in addition to having the SWAT job active.

Police Equipment & Tools

Update 5.6.0 (Fall Update, November 20, 2025) introduced a comprehensive law enforcement toolkit: handcuffs for detaining suspects, spike strips for stopping fleeing vehicles, a citation system for issuing tickets, police tape for cordoning off areas, flares for scene lighting and warnings, and a radio for communication between officers. These tools transformed police roleplay from simple patrol to active law enforcement simulation.

Update 5.9.4 (May 2026) added CAD Phase 2 — a Computer Aided Dispatch system that provides enhanced coordination tools for officers. Update 5.9.6 (August 2026) added a prop placement tool for emergency services teams (LEO, DOT, etc.), allowing placement of multiple objects for traffic control and scene management.

Once you are a police officer, the game supports realistic law enforcement roleplay. Use the citation system to ticket speeders, spike strips to stop fleeing vehicles, and handcuffs to detain suspects. The radio enables coordination with other officers. The CAD system provides dispatch information for responding to incidents. Police tape and flares help you manage crash scenes and traffic stops. Combine these tools with the police vehicle's lights and sirens for an immersive patrol experience. The criminal roleplay counterpart exists — players can take the "Criminal" passive job and engage in chase scenarios with police in pursuit.
